I like the "glary"

Wanted a super smooth almost plastic looking effect. I believe I achieved it.

The Betta is actually a Black Copper, so he looks pretty much the same with or without color.

The Loaches werent' very happy with me, but they lived through it. (One did jump out at one time)

I didn't go with color, because in achieving the white white and crystal clear on the glass that I wanated, the fish ended up yellow instead of their normal dark red/orange.

I'm still learnings about lights, and I'm not unhappy with this picture, score's a little lower than I expected, but is ok. Still better than my average. :)

Too much uneven light. Makes everything glary.

Interesting concept. I think you should keep playing around with this concept - there is a gem of a photo lurking somewhere close. This one hasn't quite nailed it yet though.

I can still recite most of that book by heart! The two fish don't look very comfy, or very alive, for that matter. Don't know how much control you had over their positioning but I would have preferred them to be more horizontal to unify the composition a bit more and focus on the sameness (fishes) and differences (number and pattern).

I love clown loach they are in fact my fav fish. I hope they did not get too upset by this pose. and they look much better in full vivid colour Just my opinion.... Cant help but wonder what colour the fighter is too.

Those clown loaches couldn't have been very happy about that move. :)

This might have been better if after desaturating then you selected the fish and gave them red and/or blue tints. Also a little blown out in areas.

your subject are out of focus. The contrast is a little high. I love the dr seuss quality.

One fish, two fish, in a glass,
Black fish, striped fish are smooshed, alas!
One fish swims from left to right,
Two fish swim up to the light.

A few too many blown out areas for my taste, and I'm not sure why you chose to go with the b/w treatment for this shot. I can't imagine how long it took to get the fish all facing in reasonable directions at the same time though... hope they weren't too traumatized!

for my taste the very bright background is overpowering the great set-up. Why didn't you like the color version?
