bad pixels

The lighting is superb. However the clarity around the Piper's left arm looks a little false. Is this due to background blurring?. I particularly like the light and dark effect though.

Focus is soft, and subjects face is dark. Good idea for the challenge.

interesting light, saturation of color, soft focus, lack of detail and contrast imbalance all need some attention, good subject well framed, but poorly exposed and presented

Very interesting subject, good placement of the subject, I can tell you must have been dealing with a very low light situation.

The image does not look that well focused to me. The glare on the bagpipe is a bit bright and it's hard to see the key details here.

This is too blurry and the face is too dark. The framing is good.

I am a little disappointed that this young fellow is so out of focus. With a clear, crisp focus... thei picture would have jumped right out and grabbed me. It didn't. (4)

tough conditions to get this right ... a fill flash may have helped, but you may have not been allowed to use one ... nice composition

Nice idea, but I find the lighting to be very harsh, and from a bad angle. Having the suject turn slightly and step more into the light, and fixing your exposure would avoid the blow outs on the face and arms.

Interesting, the blur is a bit of a distraction.

would have been nicer if photo was sharper. Great lighting and composition

There's something strange going on with the blur in parts of this image; I can't figure it out. Otherwise, a nice composition of an interesting subject.

Is the image softly focused or sharpened a lot? The people in the lower background are visually distracting
