I was wondering what some bright colorful flowers would look like in black and white.
And this is the result....
I think it works?

And for those border haters on my two/thirty entry, I toned this one down just for you :-)

Smaller F-Stop (here at F22) and longer shutter time (here 2.5 seconds) can really get the results of beautifully rich detail - and you have done so here. I like the different perspective you took. Showing us the underside of the flowers shows us the beautifully rich detail of the underside of the petals and 'backside' support of the flower. Great textures, tones and details are captured in this composition. I am not very fond that the vase is showing for it detracts from the beauty of the flowers. A smaller vase with a lower profile would have allowed more stems to show thus giving the viewer the perspective 'impression' that we are sitting lower than the towering flowers and need to look up.

You think it works? You have to know it works! I really like it. It's a very interesting perspective. The vase and border are also very nice additions.

I do like the shot but I think a bit more contrast would make it. I'm glad you used a smaller aperture as this shot didn't need any DOF. 2.5 seconds at iso 400? Dang dude, were you in the dark? lol

Great angle here re the perspective, and a good result of this "in your face" type of shot.....

What a fabulous perspective! LOVE the velvety texture of the stems.

Not fond of the top of the vase, perhaps to not include next time.

NICE border - so subtle I didn't even notice until you told me it was there - GRIN!

I don't think I done any sharpening on it.
The "halo" is probably because the border is a gradient fill layer.
Probably!!!

My initial impression is favorable on this. The composition is very well done. I can't decide if there is too much going on here - but I think it does work.

I think it's a very good and unique perspective. I really like the clarity on the stems and I like seeing a bit of the vase. I might have tried this with fewer flowers, maybe 2 or 3. Then the photo would be less busy and crowded.

Great perspective, you maintained a great DOF (f22...2.5 sec). I like it.

What a fantastic perspective, like the way the sun is forced to peek through all the petals in various shapes and angles throughout the frame. Great texture detail on the flower stems and like how everything in the frame isn't "complete" - that is, how all the flowers are shown only in part. Would like to know how you shot it - shutter, iso, exp speed, which lens...
