I love the one of the shoes. For one, it reminds me of a great mystery in life...that being when I see a show out of the road somewhere, usually just one. I asked myself...who's shoe was it? Did they get run over? Did it fall off a truck? Did his wife through them out because she was mad at him?
Anyway, photos that make me think, like this one, I would give a good seven. I think the lighting is nice, good composition and it is perfect in this color choice. Full color would not be as good.
Then, at the end of my voting, I go back, and chose about five photos that I bump up. SO a vote of above seven for me would be based on a curve. As in, which were my favorites of all the challenge entries.
Oh Darn, I took too long to post and the thread has passed me by. I hope someone can still take a look at mine |

What an interesting shot! It really makes you think. You kind of wonder where the shoe wearer went. Makes one think. I love the DOF in this shot! Nicely done! |

Great idea, super props, just the lighting a bit too harsh for me. |

Oh Erik!!!! I love this. LIke an invisible man or someone just left the world and the shoes stayed behind. This is VERY symbolic feeling to me. COOL BEANS. |

Makes a great black and white. Really makes a statement about society and abandonment. Like the image a lot. |

It's very good - great focus on the subject. The only thing I would suggest - if it is possible via the original shot - is to lose some of the asphalt at the bottom and add more sky at the top so that the shoes are in the bottom third. I feel their placement is not as dynamic as it could be. |

Ooooooh. . .how interesting. I get this upscale black and white magazine, and they are always featuring cool artistic shots like this. I love the perspective that you are shooting from. . .on the level of the shoes.
My vote: A+ for AWESOME and then some!!!!!!!!!!! |

I love the DOF on this photo. The eye goes immediately to the shoes. The shoes themselves seem to be a little bit bright. Great concept. |
