Should be called Mr. Mesmer - fantastic eyes. Nice detail and sharpness in the face.

I think this worked out just fine! What did you use for the conversion? Did you try other methods, to see how it would affect the eyes? That's a fun thing to do with cats. Great shot, by the way. Love the intensity, and an excellent job of capturing the fur well.

I'm no expert so I can only tell you what I would have done - whether it is right or wrong I am not sure. I love this! It is GORGEOUS. The eyes really pull you in. The detail on the fur is awesome. So the thing I would have done would be to cut off the part on the left, and just kept this as a face shot. Very pretty!

As in most portraits, even kitchy kat ones, the eyes make or break the shot. In this case it was made!

Excellent focus. I like this alot. You know what I'd do though? I'd use the sharpen tool at about 5 pixels and "paint" the whiskers. I"ve done that with some of my cat and dog shots and you'd be amazed at how it makes them stand out without looking fake. I'd set the opacity to about 15-20 % Might be fun to play with it. ;~D

I mcuh prefer this to your colour shot. In this the eyes really stand out and give the shot extra punch. Great shot.

Catherine what a WONDERFUL kitty portrait! Those eyes! Wow! They jut jump right out at you. He looks like he's wondering what in the HECK you are doing, but there is such trust and connection in those beautiful eyes!

Those are some HUGE eyes. I like the detail in the whiskers and fur. I almost think that a dark background may have worked better with this image - helping to emphasize the light highlights in the coat. The way that it was cropped (just missing the tops of the ears) also leaves me with wanting just that little extra.
