This was one of my favorites in the challenge. Do be discouraged by the score -- this is a beautiful and well-executed image.

One of my favourites, and it gets thirteen twos? This is the first time I vote, and I really feel a bit shocked. My favourites didn't do well at all, and the most boring snapshots got average-good ratings. I don't know what to say...

I would like this better with a different DOF, one that sharpens up the compass. But the composition itself is flawless.

Great macro!

Finally a contribution that does not include the number or symbol! Pi is in everything circular...

i wish the focus was at the point, not the bottom corner

Great composition but I think the tones could have been just a little more pleasing.

I'd prefer to see the focus point slightly further back. Or maybe with the line coming toward the focus. As it is, the past is in focus, and the eye keeps being drawn along the line to the pen which is out of focus, which is disconcerting.

I like this photo. I think I would have preferred the pencil to be the focus though.

too blurry.

This is lovely. The subtlety of the image is mirrored in the graceful circumference of the arc. The out-of-focus compass begs the eye for more clarity, which is a perfect statement for this challenge. Great work!

Interesting take on the theme, and I like it. Well done.

too fuzzy, sorry, otherwise i think it would have been really neat!

not enough in focus
05/02/2007 11:46:48 AM
It's blurry and not sharper. The picture is really dull.
05/02/2007 11:00:19 AM
This image would have been more interesting if it was focused more.

I can hardly see this, out of focus BAD!

I like it. I like the simplicity. But I think my personal preference would be for the plane of focus to be on the tip of the compass rather than at the nearest part of the drawn line. I do like the composition you've created with that line coming down into the exact corner of the image and the angle of the compass too.

Nice but I would have prefered greater DOF.

Would prefer more contrast.
