He was standing on the corner of Derry Street and Kensington High Street the day I arrived in London. For me was the typical British chap, the young stiff upper lip guy flying high in the financial business but still finding time to sneak outdoors to read the news and light up a fag.

Beautifully composed of nearly all iconic elements, and that face!

You should have called this "Jigsaw" because it is a wonderfuly fractured image. 9

I think this would be better zoomed in to just under the bottom of the newspaper.

Must be a Southerner - he wouldn't last long here in Yorkshire. Nicely observed.

I think an extreme horizontal crop would make this a little more interesting, and really bring your attention towards the guy reading the newspaper with less distraction from the text on the wall behind him. But all in all nice shot!

is that Alan Curbishly on the front of the paper?

anyway, it's a shame that the fella wasn't more to the left or the right so his suit didn't blend in with the black window frame.
i just think it would be more striking that way.

Yes, I like this. Looks like an e301 to me. The comp is a tad too centrally split for me, and I'd have loved a longer view of this bloke (still with lots of space which may not have been possible) but it's strong.

You mean fag in hand, balding head, and pretentious tie? Reading a tabloid too. Things have gone down the drain. Anyway, it is an interesting composition. 7.

Classy! I love the use of desaturation. (or is it sepia?) Cool shot.
