You have a wonderfully sense of whimsy and the very enviable ability to realize it. It's a delight to wander through your portfolio!

That crow sitting on the ladder gives the perfect touch. I can imagine him giving the man pointers. "Raise your arms a little higher, yes, that's good, now bend your elbows just slightly... more, more...Oh you humans are just no good at this!" It adds a subtle, ironic twist of humor with the solemn faces of the two, and I love it.

The colors and textures are also amazing. The sky is a smooth, soft, almost dreamy blue. In contrast the building is harsh with sharp details and violently burned colors. It creates a very strange and interesting atmosphere.

Brilliant work.

Ken, thanks for recognizing the feather on the ladder. It took me longer to try and draw that one feather than it took me to do the whole rest of the composite.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions.

Yowza, what a setup! It's a whole novel worth of story in this shot. I almost buy the bird, but he has a little bit of a halo. Everything else is looking pretty durn tight. Excellent lighting and coloration. I hope you will be well-rewarded for your efforts, Icarus. Wishing you friendly skies.

Please tell me you were only a couple feet off the ground or that you were wearing a safety harness of some sort. I get queasy just looking at the image :-) (I love the color tones and composition)
