I used my dog Lex in this photo challenge. My Mom, who is a loving mom of two, gave me pointers. When we did photoshop, she was having a good time helping me. We enjoy giving each other pointers. She is an awesome mom, and I hope she will continue the GOOD WORK.

Greetings from the Critique Club -

First congrats on your first 6+ score and a new personal best! Thats always exciting. And a 6+ score in a FS to boot is really good. The FS's tend to be a bit tougher to get the higher scores as voters tend to be a bit more finicky.

You have a very nice image here. The lighting is excellent. The color tones are warm and appealing and your overall composition is really laid out well. This is just an in general pleasing image - and now looking at your comments (and so many in challenge - well done) you hit a good chord with all of them. I placed a a bit higher in the challenge and didnt come close to that many comments during voting. Really well done. Congrats.

And I can also say that I dont really have alot to offer to make this better. You have a complete image here. Colors, detail, lighting, model and pose. Your editing is clean and well executed. Not much else to add here. While maybe not an image with serious WOW power to get you a higher score, you certainly have an image that is strong and is appealing to a large group here at DPC. 22 comments and 4 faves is excellent. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more images from you!

Oh, I love it! The subtle lighting is just glorious, and I'm always a sucker for gold and deep black like this. :) The details are fabulous. I'm guessing it'll get bombed by voters for being a low key image, but I personally love low-key. Excellent shot.

Such a sweet image - it's the sort of thing you'd expect to see on a biscut tin from the 50's. The lighting on this is wonderful. A more traditional aspect ratio and this would make a good greeting card.

This is such an unexpected visual and so very nicely done. Looks like a painting by a Dutch Master. I love it.

When he reads like this, you really should give hime more light. His eyes will go bad and he will need glasses! But serious is this set up or by chance? Cool either way 10/10

This is a very emmotive photograph. The lighting gets just a bit too harsh on the right edge of the book but otherwise I love the pose of the dog and the subject in general.

Smart dog you have there! Wonderful low key lighting and composition! Has a feeling of a painting by one of the old masters. I really love it!
