Tessa's friend, Nora, once again.

"Mono no aware" is a Japanese phrase meaning "a sensitivity or sadness to things", and describes beauty as an awareness of the transience of all things, and a gentle sadness at their passing.

I thought that this phrase described perfectly something that I sometimes see in Nora, a beautiful girl who lost her dad to cancer less than three years ago when she was just turning nine.

Most of the time I see Nora as a very upbeat and fun loving girl. She's fortunate to have a mom with an incredibly positive spirit.

She is a very beautiful girl, looks like she's full of emotion. You really caught an emotional pose IMO, great job.

Such a tender age to loose a parent. She is such a beautiful young girl with wonderful facial features. Nicely captured Erin!

Ohhhhhh. . .my heart breaks for her Erin! I remember when I was 9 or 10, my dad had to go to Viet Nam for a year, and I had the sadness I see in Nora's eyes too. But my dad came back. I'm guessing she thinks about it and still hurts every day of her life! Darn!

You've done a great job of capturing that mono no aware quality in this beautiful young lady!

She looks worried by something beyond her years, maybe part of her personality now. It is a good capture and the B&W fits perfect with the mood.
