My son and I were out for a ride and decided to take a walk on the beach. He was busy throwing rocks in the sound while I was taking some photos for the 30 day B/W side challenge. I was really happy with this one and decided to enter it - good lines, nice lighting, and solid contrast

Hi Peter, I think you've been getting robbed lately. I was one of your 7's, and I might have bumped it up had I gone back. I think this has a message, excellent DOF, and excellent composition. I suspect you got hurt by the very slightly blown areas on the sand - people are technical sticklers with this type of competition. Still think you got robbed on an excellent entry!

This is great, i dont know where to begin. The position of the horizon, the lines formed by the shadow of the boardwalk, the wooden poles, and the shoreline are perfect. The rock in the air...excellent!

I like the choice of B&W for this image

Nicely composed. The bright light isn't harsh at all. I might even play with levels or curves to enrich the shadows a bit. Nice use of neg. space.
