I love water drops :) And since my hard drive needed cleaning off, I decided to photograph it while I was doing it.

The Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX Macro Lens and the Canon 420ex flash accompanied the Canon 10D to make this photo...

Post Processing: Desaturated all the color... Resized to 624 pixels wide... Sharpened...added 2 pixel white border... added 14 pixel black border.

I like the tone of this a lot -- very nice and sharp, and interesting.

Very clear and crisp shot. Composition is interesting. The reflections and highlights in the water droplets are incredible. Good job in filling the frame.

Excellent photo. Great lighting, great focus, great composition, great everything. I think it would look better in blue tho :) 10

I can't quite figure out what this is, but I like the representation of water and the lighting.

This is so crisp and clean. The detail in the drops of water is phenomenal. My only negative comment on this, knowing it will show my ignorance. I do not know what it is! So, it lacks a little interest for me. I am still rating this quite high, I still think of and clearly see "water" as I view this. 9

Absolute flawless cold precision....... every visual component has turned to a polished metalic substance......

Beautiful lighting and definition although there's something slightly bothersome with the composition. It could be the cropping at the top right or the object to the left, I can't put my finger on it. Very smart nonetheless.

I've never thought of a hard drive as art but when it's in this context, it's very interesting. I like the way the water beads on the platter surface. This looks very nice in black and white. Thumbs up!

this looks awesome, very creative setup and perfect execution.
The water drops almost look like mercury :D 10

Interesting composition. Love the beads of water and the whole picture is sharp. The positive/negative space is real interesting in this photo. Tops 8

Great shot, great title, great colours... Think the word great springs to mind? [9]

Wow, this has got to be one of the better shots. I don't know what the heck it is suposed to be, but it's beautiful. Nice complimenting contrasts. Nice tones too!

PS: I don't see the logic...

If this is what I think this is, I hope you backed up before you took this. Great color and everything is in focus. Good job.

Edit: Bumping from 9 to a 10. Good luck!

now, why waste a hard-drive?
good pic, nice and clear

Great detail on the machine parts. Black and white is a good choice for this shot. I'm not sure the water droplets add anything more than a justification for using this shot in this challenge.

My pick of two for the top slot. Great lighting. 10
