This is the winning photo for the Manilla Paragliding Photo Competition.

The first question everyone asks is was this shot taken from the air...No. I was standing on the launch mountain, Mt Borah, and this is taken at the full end of the FZ5 zoom.

As far as I can work out from the photo, I think the pilot is Kyungjoo Cho from Korea on a Gin Glider.

This shot exemplifies why I spend most of my computer time wandering aimlessly through portfolios and galleries. Some of the photos on this site are breathtaking ... and this is no different.

After 3 years in the Army jumping out of airplanes, amongst other things, this is the best description of the feeling I had in the time between the insanity of jumping from the plane and the sanity of pulling the lanyard.

All of my life, I have wanted to travel to your wonderful country, the birthplace of my grandfather. If I should ever be able to do so, in the years I have left, I may appear on your doorstep, begging for a chance to go with you while you take some of your wonderful aerial/surf shots.

Thank you for this! It is utterly beautiful!

Wow! That's a cool shot. It looks more like a painting, though.
