I was photographing bubbles at night while they were floating through the air. I used a Canon 420EX Speedlite handheld and fired it at the bubble from the side while the shutter was open. I had my lens on manual focus to the closest distance and I was getting as close to the bubbles as possible. Exposure was manual and lens was set at 17mm for the widest angle possible.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Welcome to DPC. I see this is your first entry, and what a fine entry it is.

Technically difficult, you pulled it off beautifully. It's interesting on many different levels, thus keeping the viewer involved for a long time.

Just a thought - Right now, the image is almost exactly half 'n half. I wonder how this very nice image would look with just a little of the black area at the bottom cropped out.

Other than that, I'll just say congratulations on a very nice image and I wish you continued success here at DPC.

Oh what a neat way to do a self-portrait. I would never have guessed you did this at night. What a creative idea! I'm surprised this did not score highter.

Well if it is any consolation to you I think this pic scored very low in the challenge. There were some great images in the challenge and this was one of them....42nd??? No way!!! Should have been much higher

I love the doubling here, and the random squiggles. My kind of picture. 9

Great, so many people have got 'erroneous' reflections in this challenge, great to see someone making a feature of it

Good job
