I had the hardest time lighting this ball because it is so reflective. I had move a flash which I fired manualy around a completly darkend room until I was satisfied with only a couple of shots.

Would have like to seen the whole box, good attempt though-- clean shot

A good subject and good lighting/exposure/details. I think the composition here is distracting though. Why the vertical crop, especially with the left corner and the shadow cropped, yet so much space at the top? Following the rule of thirds is fine, but I don't think the crop works here.

Why so tightly cropped? Also, a little sharper would have brought out so much more details in the 'Ball & The Box'

Had these been better I would have scored it higher.

I have a set of these Chinese balls and thought about doing the same thing! You should have made this a "landscape" orientation to fit the subject better. Also, increase the contrast more and use Unsharp Mask.

An interesting contrast of shapes and textures, meets the challenge well.

why crop out the left edge of the box?

The entire package should have been included.

Nice color here but i think It'd be better if you capture the whole red box.
