This effect was done deliberate, when the challenge came out I said to my self that there is going to be a large number of up close macro, sharp and distinctive, thought could I achieve the opposite with a soft style of capture and if I used a big lens, and a shallow DOF with the right background (not busy) it may just come off.
The background is the tiled roof on the house next door, the flowers are a butterfly bush in our garden, and you recognize the bee, lighting is natural 90deg to my right, the true focus is on the left stamens and the green seed cup, the bee is out of focus by the depth of field to create the soft effect, as well as a lot of waiting for a bee to fly into position.
Like the look I achieved, hope others do as well.
Many may not like it possibly a 4.5 will be close for DPC.
This exceeded my expecttations by 0.4141 I'm excited....
Sharpen more, twice.

| This is underrated in my opinion. It has excellent composition and bokeh. I imagine you got hurt in voting due to large area of negative space. I commend your artistic choice here, however. Great entry. |

| Pretty colour in the flower. The bee doesn't look to be in focus and it's too dark in that area of the photo. Not sure I like the background colour, it makes everything look dull. Maybe a bighter colour would help this. |
