Maybe you could have filtered the flash just a tad knowing it was minimal editing, but I think it could be easily remedied with editing after challenge. I would have over-exposed this myself during a regular rule set to capture detail and toned it down in RAW later on myself, so I see the merits of this exposure. A really good shot. Original and nicely composed.
