Uncropped. He was extremely agitated - think the female is in heat - she is now kept in a separate pen. For some reason I was compelled to duotone this. Anyway, he was about 5 feet away, almost too close for the 100-400 which is why the nose is just out of focus...

This is the cheetah that had to be put down recently at the national zoo due to illness. I was lucky enough to get dozens of images of him.

Exquisite detail and the duotone serves to highlight his very, very intense gaze.

Stunning.
Especialy the choice to duotone, which is a rare one for a portrait of this kind i think.
I think the composition is slightly cramped, but the changes i'd suggest would be minor, just to take a few distractions out of the scene to try and simplify it a little.
