Posibly my most "worked" image.Some hours to get it, but I like the result, so no problem...
Steps: first of all is the idea, we saw the circus when we were going to buy to a near shop, and come near, made some not very good shots and quit. But when we were shoping I SAW the shot. I realized that the mood puddle would reflect the lights as it was arriving the night, and with a wide angle... I shooted some with different times in a tripod.
I have used 3 different shots (0.5, 1 and 3.2 seconds), create a real hdr in photomatix and tonemapped it with the detail enhancement. Then corrected some global things in lightroom (some levels and saturation). Finally went to PS, used noiseware, worked by zones to create more contrast in different zones of the image and created a mask for sharpening.
I hope this is my new PB. |

Greetings from the Critique Club -
Very cool shot you have here. One that probably looks even better larger than the size we are limited to here at DPC.
Very cool colors and your HDR editing is well done. It gives an almost creepy mood that can be associated with traveling circuses. I think my only suggestion would be to have a bit more sky and a bit less foreground. The reflection in the ground water is very cool and is a great balance to the trucks and tents, but the extra ground with no reflection seems a slight waste of space IMO.
Overall a really nice shot andthe voters rewarded you fo rit. While maybe not a PB a great score and excellent placing in a FS. Well done using the expert ruleset the way I think it was intended as well. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of you entries!

| This is fantastic! It looks like an old time carnival and the nostalgia just oozes out of the picture. I love how bright the lights are not just themselves but even in the water reflections against the darkness of the sky and the pavement. In my very humble opinion this should be a ribbon for you! |
