I thought of using a version of this for the free study, but since its expert editing, I thought people would have thought I photoshopped the rock in. I honestly didn't know this rock was there until I took a wrong turn and ended up in Fort Baker and saw it. I didn't want to oversaturate, but it had to get the red back in the bridge. Used the 16-32-16 bit tonemap thing, but mostly just to have more control of the curve. I really enjoy how off-putting the composition is, its all wrong and I like it, hope some of you do too.

Post challenge: My average comment received is lower than my average score, I think thats a first for me, Lol! Thanks for all the comments everyone, I am happy with this placing and score.

Very odd! And like you said, nothing about the composition should work at all, but it does. You find the most interesting places to shoot.

you're right, that rock DOES have that "i was added in during post-processing" look! very out of place, very odd.

p/s: why are you always out under bridges at night? :p

Don't look now, but that rock is on a collision course with the ol' Golden Gate!!

Great title tie-in! Awesome image also!

Cool shot, but I don't understand the name.

I like the composition with the big rock plopped right in the middle of your pic.

Nice. Would be better to lose the left 1/4 of picture. Rock is cool, but not centered.

Most people would try to figure out how to just get the bridge in this pic,you have done an excellent job, easily a 10.

Great shot, but its a bit off-balanced. The rock is strong, but the bridge on the right with nothing on the left of the image leads the eye right off the right side. Balanced images will always do better.

Nice idea, I wonder if a portrait crop with the rock cut off midway wouldn't have been a better composition?

Not sure what's with the title here, lol. Pretty nice photo though.

After looking at this one for a while, I think that I figured out your title. :) This is perfectly exposed. I'm just not sure about the rock right in the center, dominating the composition. 8 for now, but you have the one shot in the challenge that makes me want to come back and stare at it for a while more to decide on a final score.

Excellent shot, I only wish this rock wasn’t that centered. 6
