Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Night Shot IV (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Location: Australia
Date: Apr 8, 2007
Aperture: 9.0
ISO: 400
Shutter: 3.2
Galleries: Abstract, Architecture
Date Uploaded: Apr 10, 2007

Took the quite a few photos and also did a zoom as the shot was exposing. Decided on this one. Did a few saturation adjustments and thats all. This was fun as I have never really done any night photography and I did several locations and practiced with a lot of different shutter speeds to see what happened.

I love this photo! It's really inspired and obviously wildly misunderstood. Now that blur is en vogue, you'd probably score better with it.

I thought this was a wonderful image. I get a great sense of action at night. I'm not sure what is going on here--but that is characteristic of the experience of night.

I gave the image a 10. I really love it. But I seem to be the only person who gave it a 10. I can understand why this image did not do well in a DPC challenge called "Night Shot"--it certainly is not a typical night image. But among those who tried to push the boundaries, I thought this was the best.

Interesting. Might be very nice as part of a collection. Nothing familiar enough or evocative enough to grab me.

Unique and innovative I love it but the black at the top bugs me you should have all most cropped just a little more off top.

Very cool abstract. I really like the ball against the primarily square, rectangular, linear shapes. The dark upper left section gives balance to the composition. And I like the feel of 'oncoming' motion. Not sure how well it will go over with the voters in general, unfortunately, it often seems that not many people appreciate a good abstract. As for me, I dig 'em, and I think this one is pretty neat. Nice job :-)

Ooooh. . . I really love this one. The abstract composition really makes it more than a photo taken at night. It's art. . . and very nice, wall-hanging art at that!

Selective color to make the blacks blacker might have helped some. I do like this image a ton overall!
