This is what we do with our weekends April-October. This is his addiction, he loves it & has been racing since he was 14. I love watching him lead the pack!
Not the greatest pic, it was just a snapshot while he was getting ready to go out for practice. I tried the Lucis-art look alike link/plugin's.... First try at it, not sure if I like it yet or not. Any opinions would be great! :)

For some background on the car, the past several years we've been wrapping all the body panels with vinyl/decal material. We have a great sponsor: Avery, that provides us with the vinyl we need each year to letter the cars. This year we have a camo car, this "Pot of Gold" car (which is wrapped in gold leaf, gold engine turn, & gold chrome material), and a diamond plate car that we haven't decided what to do to yet.
For this shot I was in the pits right next to the car, sometimes I end up being his only crew! lol Poor guy!

The filters give it a 1970's kind of feel that works well. Great colors.

I actually like the bars, it gives the viewer a sense of place and angle. Let me guess, you were in the pit?? Rail bottom right tells me you were behind some kind of protection :) The upper right corner could go away and not affect anything though. Good work using those filters.

Brandi, this is so awesome! I know just indirectly from seeing how much racing is a part of my brother-in-law's life that there is no "moderately" interested racres are they. They are sold out, obsessed, "nothing-is-more-important", kind of folks, aren't they! But from the outside looking in, it looks like such a fun passion. I just LOVE going to the races and being part of the racing ambiance.

Anyway, I LOVE this portrait! I don't know what a Lucis-art plug-in is, but it sure works here because this looks GREAT!

Nice! For a snapshot it really tells a story for me. Very cool. If you could have somehow cropped out the stuff in the upper right corner and cloned out the red bar lower right, it might have had enhanced this even more. As is, a great portrait.
