Not sure if this really qualifies as a portrait but I am gonna post it as one anyways. I was waiting for Aimee to come out of the North Market downtown when it started this crazy flurry. These two guys were standing in this doorway smoking cigarettes. I got out of the car and asked if I could take their pic. They said sure and this is what I got. I like the snow falling and what it adds to the shot. If it hadnt been snowing I may have tried a closer up shot, but this composition just interested me. Not a whole lot of editing went into this.

Love this shot - a white guy in black and a black guy in white, framed by the doorway, and the snow adding a gentle diffusion to the picture.

Really good.

Gotta love a good snow squall to add some interest to a shot. Viewing this type of impromptu candid is helping me to build up my courage to take similar shots. The worst that can happen is they say no, right? And chances are, you might get a great shot like this one. I really like how they're framed in the doorway.

Even tho it's sort of a candid shot, I really like the composition. Colors are really nice too, nice shot!

I'd say this definitely is a portrait-and a good one too! The blurred snow is great, and their expressions are interesting.

Oh yes, Tim, this is most definitely the kind of portrait that works GREAT for a challenge like this. This is really awesome. You're right the snow adds such a touch of glam and interest to this, but I think just the poses and the character would have made a very cool photo on their own too.

I like the rich tones in the wooden door and the concrete. This is just a really cool photo!

Nice capture, I love this type of day to day life, street photography. The snow creates a great atmosphere - it's just a refection of life! The centre composition works here.
