| Great shot.I can see why this is top ten material. If I had been a particpant in dpchallenge when this image and challenge were being done, it would most definetly scored highly due to all the reasons below. I am a great fan of black & white photography and I feel that this type of photograph with its' emotional content is best portrayed in B&W. Well done. |

| This shot is so expressive and fits the challenge perfectly ! I love the predominantly low-key tones and your cropping. The lack of identity of this person was very wise as it shows poverty more of a societal problem than just an individual's plight. The clutching hand and dirty cup add to the emotion and I like your point-of-view, as well. The lighting way down at the bottom gives it a glimmer of hope, though. Very well done! |

| O love socially minded shots! This works really well in bw, both for you subject, message, and the overall challenge topic. I like that the face is not shown, as this really could end up being anyone. Love the composition and the angle. Really nice work. |

| The black border is distracting to me since at the top it blends in with the photo, and it kind of pops out at the bottom. Other than that, good photo. |

| I really wish nothing except his hands were seen. Personally would have cropped out everything the hands. As is it's just a photo a little too dark. Of the hands only says a thousand words. Could have been a 10 in my opinion, but is a 6. |

| I love the gritty dark nature of this shot, the contrast and textures are great. focus is just a tad soft, but it fits. my top pick. |

Technical: Fits the challenge well. Exposure composition focus and lighting all excellent, very compelling.
