This is a shot from last summer at a wedding I attended. This is my girlfriend's cousin and her two boys.

I wasn't the main photographer for the wedding and only shot a few dozen photos, but the bride said she liked my photos better than the main photographer's, so go figure :)

Trying out a new workflow for portraits, which is a lot more structured and way quicker than what I was using before, which was pretty much a "fly by the seat of my pants" kind of editing style.

PP:
- Convert to TIF from RAW
- Unsharp mask (Defog - to remove the haze of the original)
- Curves (very slight S-curve to create contrast)
- Selective Colour (lowered Cyan to give some colour to the skin)
- Hue/Saturation (slight increase to saturation to pop the colours more and had to do a slight decrease in the red saturation to compensate)
- Cloning (some minor cloning for blemishes and a bit of the stray hair)
- Selection and desat of teeth (to make them whiter)
- Dodge (slight dodge to eyes to make them whiter)
- Burn a vignette
- Unsharp mask
- Noise (add a tiny bit of noise to give the photo a film-like texture)

Still working out the process, so let me know what you think.

I like the colours and the vignette, but I think it would work as well without the noise
Nice warm portrait

This is the kind of photo that the mom is going to treasure forever. She probably doesn't have many photos of them all together like that. And everyone looks so nice and has a fun, natural looking smile on their face. You must be very good at making people feel really comfortable in front of the camera. That's a gift, and probably why the bride liked your pictures better.

Way to go!

Nice blues here - and I like the way they seem to lean together
