Challenge: December Free Study (Advanced Editing I*)
Camera: Olympus C-740UZ
Location: Bellingham, WA
Date: Dec 1, 2003
Aperture: 1:3.2
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/5s
Galleries: Interior, Still Life
Date Uploaded: Dec 2, 2003

This is the photo I'm using for a set of Christmas cards. The photo was difficult to take because of the distortion of lines in the narrow windows. I used a tripod and chose dusk as the best time of day.

Color and tones are beautiful ! You've shot this at a perfect time of the evening to capture the blue of the sky. Really adds some special "atmosphere" here along with the silver of the ornaments. I do, howeve, think the tree is a bit too heavy with ornament and I really wish you would have blurred the background more so that the houses outside were not visible. IMO, they really detract from an otherwise beautiful and elegant scene.

Specactular! The tree being narrow really works. I don't know that I've seen a photo from inisde a house that was more attractive. December free study, has meaning to december. The only think I don't like is that it's off center. 10, my pick for best image in this challenge.

Nice capture of the lighting here. I wish the two chairs in front were not blocking the bottom of the tree = 6

Very nicely done, the blue lighting outside contrasts very nicely with the white light of the tree. And great composition by the way. :)

nice composure, a little out of focus. I guess you handheld in low light? Try a tripod if you can't get the speed of the focal length.
I.e if your shooting at 60mm, use 1/60th or more. 200mm and shoot at 1/200th or more.

Really pretty blue finish with the white lights. I wonder how this would of looked if it was totally dark outside? Love the tree.
