I like the grain, adds to the surreal feeling of being in a wormhole.

Glad to see your explanation. Heck you're not Zoomdak's neighbor, your his housekeeper and money tree. j/k ;)

Many asked how this photo was created. I set the exposure on 15 seconds, and walked backwards away from the camera while swinging my headlamp in a circle. The photo was taken at 1AM and the 15 second exposure (maximum on my digital camera)didn't allow for much light, so in bringing up the light contrast, the grain was the result. I tried neat imaging the thing but stayed with the grain in hopes of capturing more of the spinning sense within the midst of a vortex. Thanks for the comments.

I like the idea and the effect but for me, I think the processing has been pushed too far. I do like the surreal effect of it - good luck

Grainy...looks like a photoshopped ufo photo from the 60's

You're probably getting hammered on the grain, but it's original and very cool. 8 How'd you do it?

I am typically not a fan of a grainy color image, but this is very cool.

how the heck did you do this? I'll give you 4 for confusing the heck out of me and another 4 for graininess = 8

Well made prolonged exposure. Difficult to execute, but perfectly pulled off.

And where does the vortex take you? Hmm is that a ghost in the water? lol Great idea. Love the purples and blues. Good luck!

Good concept. I won't shoot you down for the noise though. I'm sure others already have.

I don't mind the grain in this, but would love to see it after it's run through neatimage or something to take it out. The colors are awesome and i think in this case, no noise would have been better. imho

The idea is awesome, but I am not sure I like the one-color blue tone or the the excessive noise in the picture. Still a great shot though.

I think I would like this a lot more if it weren't so noisy ...

Very cool effect and the looks of a great location. The Thumbnail showed real promise.

To me thought the photo is slightly spoilt by the excessive grain. This looks like a great idea for a shot though to re-visit.

I'm guessing it's not Zoomdak, maybe a neighbor. A super idea for the challenge and one I am curious about. My only negative is the extreme amount of noise in the sky/ground. Unfortunately this will probably hurt your photo's score. Still, a great idea and one that you could refine if you try it again. 7

I'm guessing a flashlight tied to a rope and twirled while running away from the camera????

Very cool! I await with curiosity how the DPC voters will react to the level of noise in this photo. Lovely shot :)

Took me a while to work out how that was done. That's really cool. Bit of a shame about the noise. Could you try NeatImage? 9
