Thanks guys, I have not tried HDR yet, i have not got the software for it. and do not know how to get it in elements 4 or Aperture. something for me to learn i think.

Gorgeous! The image is very detailed and has good contrast. The bright lights add variety to the scene and create a visually interesting lighting situation. The lights and the surrounding areas are overexposed, but I don't think it's necessarily too bad.
Skip gives good advice though: this image might be even better if both the highlights and shadows could retain detail. I would love to see this image in an HDR version (from perhaps 5 frames in 2-stop increments? I haven't done enough HDR yet it know what would work best). |

this one works as a bw, but i think you need to work on either your exposure, or your post-production. this is a situation where you can't get everything in one frame, unless you really work on it. you need the detail in the shadows, but the lights are way over-exposed. if you stop it down a bit, and can't find enough detail in the shadows, you will probably need to merge to frames to get the final image you're looking for. |
