I understand this photo because I was horse mad too, but the composition is a bit clumsy to me. The horses' heads merge in a way that might be touching in a closeup, but since the neck fades out on the painting it's just a bit confusing.

Very nice picture! I don't get the connection to childhood though, without the title. Especially since I grew up in New York City. But a lot of people don't get mine either...<grin> Nicely composed. Good luck! Grayce aka Gracious

Clever choice of content.
Highlights too overblown for me.

How true..good interpretation of the challenge...black and white is a good choice.

Very pretty and great way of doing this. I like how it is a painting in the back and the figure of the horse in the front looks like it is in relation to the painting inthe back. The addition of hay is also very nice. The black and white is a nice touch, I would like to see the color version as comparrison as to why you decided to go black and white instead of color. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

Horses. It sure was for a good friend of mine. I grew up in Tulsa....lots of horse shows etc. Well done and really great idea and composition. Score 7 Justine

Although I like color better, this is a good photo, interesting and technically pretty correct in every way that I can see. (I'm no expert!) The only thing is... don't use the name of the challenge in the title, no way, no part, no how!
