Challenge: Cell Phone Mania (Basic Editing)

This challenge came up and this is what I thought of. This is a phone booth at a mall just a couple miles from our home. I really wanted to catch an image that looked candid. That didnt really happen but close enough. It wasnt until I got home that I realized my camera settings were set with an aperture of 10. I would have preferred it to be at 4 to get the background blur but we were in a rush and had no time to go back and reshoot. This is my wife  aimeethetoo posing for me. The shot just previous had someone walking by in a tshirt and shorts. It was a really nice evening but I wanted the long black coat for moodiness. Hoping for a high 5 - maybe.
PP - RAW conversion to 16bit Tiff, Photomatix tonemapping (which caused the slight vignetting seen around the phone booth and right side of image), levels, hue/saturation adjustments, selective color, NI, USM, crop, resize, USM, border.
And on eextra note. This week there i a pic of Aimee, Aidan and Rowan all up for vote at the same time with a pic of me coming down when this one goes up. We are a family of posers. ;) |

Hey, awesome! Another one where the voters suprised you and gave you a much better score than you thought! I love it when that happens. This is so cute tho. . .To me it seems like a definite sure thing for a great score.

| reminds me of a martin parr photo i've seen of a guy at Ascot in front of a phone booth talking on a mobile. i like it. |
