i had taken this shot the day before this challenge was announced.
when i realised i had a good shot for the challenge, but it was taken
a day early i decided to go back and take the same again, but after 2
seperate trips back there i couldnt manage to get a shot as good. i went
back a third time for the last chance before the deadline and the
shot submitted was about the 10th and last exposure.
after this placing, and beating my old pb by some distance, i'm
glad i made the extra trips.

no post processing, just converted from RAW.

Very good composition, superb colors and good idea with the long shutter speed. A good border would make this one a fantastic image.

Very nice. Love the rays coming off the tower. Nice color combination, too. Did you use tungsten setting, or adjust white balance at all to get that wonderful purple path?

expertly taken - i've stood in the same spot and never got remotely close to such a great picture from there. you've done a real goodun of a job; the tree lights are joyful and sharp, and the red against the setting sky just looks divine. great motion blur / long exposure without overdoing the light... stunning image.

my first weighted scoring system™; composition + technical 3/3, challenge 1/1, post processing results 2/2, ooooh factor 3/3, originality 0.5/1 = 9.5 (upped to 10)

This is just sweet! Love the color and motion of the wheel. The exposure is just about perfect (we can even see the illuminated area below the blue trees!)
