I had this idea when I first saw the challenge. My idea was slightly different from the final product, though. I wanted the lips to be more pronounced and the eyes cropped by the mirror.
The idea of the family portrait in the corner came from a friend of mine. This gave the photo so much more depth and a very intriguing back story.
The original idea would've worked, but this is so much more interesting to me.

This is a good idea and I think you put it together pretty well.

bit too predictable

i like that this one has a story... and could be something real in society... concept's great... the execution could be a little better, but again, i like that you put some thought behind this. :)

I like the idea but it might have worked out a bit better if the composition was slightly better. I dont like the space on the right of the mirror and I would have also preferred the model's face to be in focus as well as the picture.

I like the idea, but the stubble kind of takes away from it.

Possibly the most realistic (in the true-to-life sense) photo I've seen so far.

A bit blurry, but the serious expression is working.

nice idea.

A dangly earring would have been a nice touch. I like the statement you seem to be making by including the snapshot in the foreground. At least, I think you are making this statement- I perceive it as, he's not gay!

Very good idea. My biggest problem with it are the two lights on the mirror. They're kind of blinding, makes it difficult to look at the actual focus of the picture. I'd also prefer it if the corner of the mirror wasn't slightly cut off, but that's a minor point.

lighting is a off and your all blury. I would have had the focus on you getting all dressed up and the picture of you and your family blury.

Showing the sad side of crossdressing is good.

Very nice - love the lighting, perhaps cropped a little too tightly on the top for me, but overall very good.

icky.

nope

Wish it were more in focus. I'd do a selective desat of yellow and red or maybe do it in full BW.

good idea but i would have aimed to have the focus on the reflection more than the photo.

I like the intent of the photo. Not sure if it is the tone or what, but it seems it isn't done as well as it could be.

Hmmm...I wonder how many in this challenge are for real! This image got me thinking.
03/14/2007 05:31:18 AM
An entire story in a pricture, I like that. On the other hand, the picture is not pleasant to look at.
