Nice catch on the smoke, but I'd like to see those incense sticks glow - possibly by reducing the artificial light level.

Excellent capture of the smoke, with all the recent forum discussion about it, it doesn't seem easy. Your coloring seems off, there appears to be some grain that results from a lot of hue/saturation or color adjusting.

Nice composition on this one, and you nailed the lighting. Great shot.

I like the comp, the colors, and the smoke... however, it seems a little bright. On the whole, I like the shallow DOF, but I would be more convinced if the front stick were a little sharper.

the bits of red are distracting and the blown out light also drags this down a bit

really high iso?? Lots of noise in the black would have been better with out it. Nice composition, weird color cast.

DOF lets this image down. Personnally, I find the extension of the incense hold beyond the frame line a bit distracting. It could have been strong if you had created a balck base. Same hold true for the smoke.

Very nice, lighting a bit harsh.

Good composition. Interesting color. Could use a bit more clarity, but a very good shot overall.

An excellent capture of the scent itself. Good lighting. A top image. I don't like the borderline running through the image itself.

I think your focus could of been a bit better. That and the light is stronger then it needs to be. I think the composition is nice but here again it could of been improved a bit. Not seeing the full jar is distracting to my eye. I think the idea is excellent and meets the challenge 100%.

This shot really fulfills the challenge. The smoke rising makes me automatically breathe deeper to inhale the fragrance. Focus could be better.

a bit overexposed. especially on the sticks.

Not entirely crazy about the incense burner in the shot, I think I might have preferred to see just the incense sticks, but it's really the smoke in this shot that captured my attention - it has a nice soft "ephemeral" feel to it that is very appealing. You managed to perfectly capture the wonderful sinuous look of the smoke without giving it hard edges. Very nicely done. I do like your composition, and the border treatment.

Great job on capturing the smoke there as it is very tricky to do well.

too much noise in the background.

I like that you've used the entire frame for the shot. The black background makes everything stand out nicely. The purple smoke is interesting and fairly well lit. The burner only has a very small section on the top where the light seems a little too bright but it's not very distracting. I'm not sure about the border. At the bottom the golden color matches the burner, but around by the purple smoke it draws attention away from it a little.
