This wasn't shot for the challenge-almost a candid... in fact all I was doing was fooling around with lights when I saw this shot waiting to be taken...he isn't really posing, I saw him standing like that and yelled "hold that for a moment"...
It makes me think of a painting.
Weird thing is the background...the wall is black, but there is some strange little hole in the wall right near his belly button, and a speck behind his head that I couldn't even see on my Emac...reason enough to check shots on more than one monitor. So in an experimental way, I hope to see if I get comments regarding this...
Levels, curves, saturation, neat image, smart sharpen, added border.

The importance of line. And there is something about a red sweater, that exact red.
Makes me want to write a Robert Frost poem about the line and the red sweater. That is a splendid line all down the head and the front.

I see a lovely study in texture and light. Love how this really brings out the texture of his sweater. Not as "lifeless" as I see some paintings as being - definitely warmer and richer - at least to me.

I don't see no speck or no hole. You crazy.

This actually doesn't look like a painting. It is in fact, kind of giving the finger to painting. And that's a good thing.

I call this, "Finger Painting." So let it be written, so let it be done.

I'd love just a little more separation from the BG. It's an introspective picture and overall it is very nice.

This is one of those refreshing portraits. Simple, not typical, well exposed. It is a vote stopper, and as such highly rated.

I'm really pulled into this image, and it took a whopping 2 seconds. A bit of a double take, if you will. Great color, lighting, BG. I really like this.

He seems to be dozing....... I'm getting a little sleepy too! Love the contrast of the sweater to the black background. Nice detail in the thread.
