 I found this in an old empty building in Los Angeles, and the early morning light was just right coming from a window to the left. I know, a metal chair is not really "furniture" to most people, but to some it very well could be, in the right environment. I was hoping to create a mood where it looked like somebody with not a lot to do sits in this chair watching the city below.

Converted from RAW to 16 bit tiff, used shadows/highlights, selected the chair, window, and room, made new layers with those and adjusted levels, saturation, and usm separately. Cloned out some small debris on the floor. Dodged and burned in small amounts in different areas (although it looks like a lot more than I did). Flattened and ran through Neatimage for noise, adjusted levels a little more, resize, more usm, border, save for web.

This image is so good (well-seen, composed and processed) and strong (contrasted and sharp), it would, IMO, benefit from a plainer border. If it doesn't ribbon, I'll eat my pen.

This is very interesting! The lighing is perfect and I love the shadows. Color is wonderful and the reflection on the chair seat is nice. Even the border adds interest. Nicely done. 10
