Svetlana.....I am so humbled by your amazingly elegant and inspiring talent. It's a privilege to see you grow and get better with each day and photograph.
I have to add that there is something very deep about this image that hurts me deeply ... I guess that means it is extremely moving and doing what you intended ... I just thought that I would come out and say that ... which I did not before ... because the feeling was so profound that I felt it should be mentioned ...
You got the shaft in this one. This shot is beautiful. The soft delicate colors are wonderful. Someday, you will be one of the top photographers in the WORLD.
This one tells a story that is concurrently disturbing and very real. I didn't vote in this challenge, but would have given this top marks. I actually think this may be my favorite of your photos to date - you must have used your new light kit? Anyway, the composition with the ring is brilliant.
Another brilliant piece from you. I'm just going to wait for you to NOT get a ribbon in this challenge and then laugh at DPC (once again) for missing the brilliance that is right in front of their faces. I hope they prove me wrong. sorry that my stridency is keeping me from saying anything useful. It is difficult to talk about something that works so instantaneously. I am not going to point here to references. This is simply you. You use the haphazard folds of a backward shirt to convey a sense of not belonging, but at the same time to show the beauty of not belonging as well as the sadness, because the ill-fitting shirt drapes beautifully all around you. And then there is the perfect ivory skin tone, perfectly perfectly lit and captured. Like a painting, and yet more real, more physical, more three-dimensional than most photographs (the way some master paintings are). Brava. 10 doesn't begin to describe this.
i dont quite enjoy this as much as i have your other work svetlana, technically it is very well done, but i am not getting the story you are trying to tell, is it a little girl troubled, maybe someone in mental institution? still i like it on some level /7
