Studying this a bit, the textures and weathered streets add so much to this. Stories of men building the walls, paving the streets without fancy machines, just hands and sweat, all can be seen here.
The world I live in is built without character. It's level, with sanitary angles, and few indications that craftsmanship existed. I love studying the character in old-world architecture, such as you captured here.
Amid the aged structures, shines a face.
A face that that lights up the screen, and says content.
I doubt they know little of the spoiled life we live really. They could never understand the complaints of having 100 channels on TV and finding nothing worth watching, or not being able to download the latest ringtone for their new phone.
Children form an important part in the family's daily survival in 3rd-world countries, often traveling long distances on foot to get to the market, to buy a few cents worth of rice for the family's one meal together, and I suspect this is probably just what this shining face is doing.
Yet amid the aged structures, shines a face. A smiling face.
A modern face in a timeless setting, with, not without.
