 Kinda awkward self portrait, but I am so amateur that I have no model except my family, whom I did not want to pose for this concept. For real I am quite all right with myself, but here I tried my best to look not to be so.

Not much experience in (and equipments for) portraiture. Now I have an umbrella and a stand where I can use my SB800 as a strobe while putting a diffuser on the on-board flash. Circular polarizer was used.

Post processing: in RAW: color mode Ia, levels, sharpening, etc.
PS: some cropping, saturation, contrast+some further level fine adjustment.

"Self-hate to death (a last glance at the "enemy")" is a very interesting entry into the Hate challenge. I think you defiantly did an excellent job of being creative and coming up with an idea that really does meet the challenge.

I have to give you major credit for doing a self portrait, those can be some of the toughest shot anyone can take. I think it is critical that you left your actual self as part of the photo so that we can understand the concept. The lighting and focus both look good. I am not sure if I really like the mirror on the side, it is kind of distracting.

I think maybe if you were able to make the lighting a little creepier, like with a few shadows and darkening the background out some it might have scored higher.

Great idea! I think you are very creative and it defiantly shows through your photos.

the look on the face looks too staged...I would have just called it 'a last glance at the enemy'

I like the subject. I think a little gloomier lighting would have fit the bill better, but still a good job. 7

This is really creepy, but very intense. The lighting and the angle from which you shot this image is awkward.

The idea is okay, but I am not too pleased with the camera position (and hence the composition). I think you could have had a much more attractive picture by placing the cam behind the model. (5)

Exposure, focus, and lighting are all great. You've met the challenge well and did a good job conveying hate without relying on the title to do it for you.
