 Typical yes. but i played with the lighting a bit.

Thanks to my lovely boyfriend who sent me a bouquet with many different flowers, i had a chance to experiment with lighting/angles, etc. The flash is directly behind the flower allowing the colors to pass through and turning the background completely black.

Minimal editing, just a slight level change, cropped a tad to remove a leaf tip in the corner.

The pic is a little too small. But I love the lighting on the flower. The composition is good as well. Just wish it was bigger so I could see it better.

I like the picture angle from the back of the flower - puts a spin on something that is pictured a lot.

there seems to be a general theme of shooting things you love without actually expressing the theme of love itself

so to me.. a shot that does not show love is not a love shot and therefore doesn't meet the criteria

Nice backlighting. Wish the photo was a bit bigger to see more of the detail in the flower.
