...my wonderful wife, my wonderful daughter: thank you for this shot.
I'm not sure how the voters will rate this, maybe a lot will say "too noisy". I did it like this on purpose. I think it accentuates the emotion. My opinion only...
Anyway, even if this does bomb, for me, it is one of my best ever pics. I will print it and hang it on the wall.
Crop, convert to bw, curves, (in the gimp), noise filter (in picasa, I think the add noise option is great), then, again in the gimp, resize, sharpen, add borders, another small curves adjustment and that is it. |

| Nicely done.. I like the b/w tones here, but the child's arm almost gets lost into the bright background. Thanks for cleaning up under the fingernails first.. nothing worse than dirty fingernails in a picture! |
