 The area between Pakistan and India called Kashmir is slowly becoming politcally stable but there are still militia 'freedom fighters' everywhere

If you ask a resident whether they are Indian or Pakistani, most say something like: "Niether! I'm Kashmiry!"

All of these intimate portraits are just freakin' stunning. They are particularly powerful for the subject matter, but also the enforced focus on the intense eyes, with the depth of field falling very quickly away from them. Outstanding, each one!
