Greetings From The Critique Club!

I would say that a 5.5 is a sign of success for this image, because some aspects of this image are not DPC-friendly. There is a certain roughness to it: the shadows on the barbed wire are very dark and have no detail. There are looming dark shapes in the background. Even the bokeh looks ominous. The wire itself looks rough and decayed. All these things defy DPC standards, but you got a plus-5 score because they also contribute to the meaning of the picture, convey a sense of the harshness and misery that accompany hatred.

Personally, I've seen a lot of close-up shots of barbed wire at DPC, and this doesn't do anything new with it, so I would not have given this a big score. I wouldn't have given it a low score, either, because of the roughness and because I really like the background and those dark mysterious shapes. I'm pretty sure I would have given this a 6.

This is a great picture but I find the spider web (?) distracting

Very nice picture of barbed wire. The connection to the challenge is a bit lost without the title (to me) 6

I think you could have taken the cropping even further towards panoramic. Great shot, the delicate spiderwebs offer an interesting contrast.

nice symbolism. would've like to see a little more drama in the background however.
