This helmet and sword rest on top of the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa, Canada. With single poppy left from Remembrance Day. After the ceremony ends on Nov 11 most of the 6-10 or so thousand participants take off their poppy pins an place them on this tomb. This started a few years back and continues in a strong tradition. I was only able to visit four days later therefore only one poppy and not thousands. The soldier was Canadian from WW1, died in France.

At screen resolutions that flower closely resembles those oversized wax/plastic lips commonly found around Hallowe'en as part of costumes. I had somewhat the same impression, not knowing the Canadian tradition about the red poppies ... and something symbolic of a farewell kiss is often a part of war-related imagery.

This image with another background (maybe a dark on) would be to much better... personally I don't like the light here... the idea is very good, good luck

Very effective indeed.

If you stood on the side walk you see here, and looked at this the other way, do we have distractions that way? What if you stood above it and shot down? How about getting in even closer to the sword/hat abstract? Creativity in your angles pays off. Experiment and have fun. 5 -danny

are those fake lips on the sword? i'm not really sure what those are, but they seem a bit out of place.
