Greetings from the Critique Club!
Well, you got the hard part. You captured a very real feeling of affection between these too. If you have a knack for that, then wedding photography is the business for you! I think the composition makes the couple very big and puts them in the center. That's exactly what they'll want. Sometimes a more daring, off-center composition makes a shot more interesting, but you made the right choice here. This is clearly a photo of their love for each other and you've done everything to emphasize that. Their background is beautiful without being distracting, just a burst of leaves shot through with sun. The backlighting is flattering and romantic, and you somehow got some light in the front as well (a reflector?), so that all in all they are lit perfectly.
There are a few imperfections that don't amount to much, but did keep you from a higher score. Most significantly, the focus is soft. A simple "sharpen" in post-processing would help, but it probably could have been focused better right in the camera. I don't know. If I see it sharpened, I might decide the focus is perfect. I'd have to see.
Also, I see what I think is sensor dust on her left shoulder, and strange pinpoint highlights in their hair. It almost looks like dandruff! All that can be cloned out.
A lovely, lovely shot. I can guarantee you that this couple will be framing this. |
