Uprooted Oak tree. To the top right is the root system. The tree is laying from the root system to the middle and then towards the lower right of the shot. Branches have been cut from tree to allow passage by hikers.
Shot was in heavy shadow. 5 exposed frames put together in Photomatix to get the final. As always, the original looks much better. Unless I can find a way to convert to web and keep all the glory of HDR, I'll keep posting "save for web" HDR !
