I took this photo of this family at a suburban mall in Maryland. I submitted it for two reasons: all black children do not grow up in single parent home, and children do know how and when to behave. Even if the statistics are 40% single parent, that means 60% have two parents. My impression was that this father spends a lot of time with his children. The little boy was not sitting down the whole time: he was sitting on his dad's lap, pulling on his sleeve and pointing at things for his dad to see. Daddy was anxiously looking for mom, because he was ready to go, but she was nowhere in sight. Although the photo was not technically perfect, it was special to me.

Your words add lots to this image. One can tell from very simple body language what relationship children have to their parents. It records a moment, another little revelation of life. Hope to see more of your work with such insights.

i'm almost afraid to comment on this photo. i see a tremendous amount of wisdom in that youngest childs eyes. as if he's already seen enough in his short life to fill a lifetime. your focus is way off, perhaps that was intended

The scene is great, a pity the sharpness is not on top.

love the title and the subjects. Would be nice if the image was a little crisper.

Great composition but the focus is a bit too soft.

I like the composition and it does meet the challenge, but I can't get over the overall lack of focus. Looks like camera shake?

nothing in focus. The white are slightly blown out but not to a bad extent. The lack of focus really killed this image.

This shot is well composed but I think it could be a little sharper. I know that's probably hard to do sometimes.

It's a nice picture, but it looks shaky, or not quite in focus.

great composition, could have been a bit steadier with the camera though.
