Okay, it makes sense to me. grapes wine, etc. I love the clarity of this shot and the composition is strong as well. I definitely think you got slammed for not having a grape in the picture. maybe if they had let you borrow one, just for the picture.
Beautifully done, I love the depth of field and the clarity of the glass. But, as I'm sure I won't be the only one to comment, although I appreciate it's a fruit juice or wine, that is a product of a fruit rather than a fruit itself.
Hmm hate to be picky but wine is more of an end product or extract rather than the actual Fruit & Veg, some grapes with it would have contextualised it better for me.
Right, this is touch a one for me to call, because technically your subject is not actually a fruit or a vegetable. Yes, it is made from a fruit, but you wouldnt call a diamond a lump of coal, just because it is made from it would you ?
Nice idea and can see where you were coming from so i wont penalise you with a very low scare, but even though the image is technically beautiful and well executed i can only offer you mid range points.
I really like this image...excellent dof...and a great story going on in the bg...I am not sure if many of the voters will see this as fruit or vegetables in the true spirit of the challenge...I will give you the benefit of the doubt...Oh, and did I say I love Chandon?
