 I think the crop will be my downfall on this one. It's straight out of the camera with the right side cut off dang it, and I would have liked more of the bowl showing on the bottom but oh well. As a beginner, I'm pretty pleased with this and I'm learning soooo much about lighting. The only post processing done was to clone out a small dark spot to the right of the pear stem.

By the way, that's a plum not an apple

Thanks for the comments everyone! I liked the bright lighting on this on and so did my friend who works at a photo gallery, but I guess it's not for everyone. I also wonder if everyone thought the plum was a weird looking apple... I can't wait to get a bounce flash... thanks again.

The way the fruit is so small and lonely feeling in the bowl (a beautiful turning by the way) bothers me. I think a single piece of fruit in the bowl, the pear perhaps, would have really pushed the scale change and made it work better.

Lighting could be improved, colour a little washed, framing good have been a little better. Bettr luck next time.

Focus is a little soft and looks to me as though the WB is a little off.

Lighting too harsh, need to soften the flash and get focus sharp. Nice composition
