This is the book that first came to mind when the challenge was announced, but I ended up going with something totally different in the end. Nice idea, although photo could stand to be a little sharper, and maybe adjust the brightness and contrast a bit.

I’m Sorry, but this is funny from so many different ends… I love the “dog’s point of view” most of all. I don’t know if it was intentional, but is sure brought a smile to my face.

Cute. I'm sure Shel Silverstein would get a kick out of where this sidewalk ended. It seems to be a bit blurry, but I like it.

Very good choice of picture to illustrate this title.

gives a feeling of loneliness
perhaps better of less centralised?

While this might be a great book and your picture portrays that title, I don\'t think it is a good shot. The fire hydrant is over exposed, nothing in the picture is sharp, and all in all there is nothing in this shot that is appealing.

Nice, not much else I can say. Looks like what he based the cover off of!

Great concept. Could have been a little bit darker, maybe B&W. Maybe from a higher perspective (on a ladder)?

the colors seem a bit dull in the photo.

I find the photo lacking in the emotion I think you were trying to capture. Maybe a different angle or b/w?

To me, a bit more contrast would have helped.

Does match the title but the result is an unfortunately dull image. Static central composition, absolutely nothing of interest to look at and lifeless colours. Idea is good but realisation hasn't come through.

Fun shot/title. I do think the colors look a little muted. Maybe a wee bit of saturation would of helped bring this to life.

The firehydrant definately makes this photograph. It reminds me of my younger days, there was a place in my neighborhood where a sidewalk ended much like this one does. I always thought of the book when I saw that sidewalk.

I love this photo. It should be used for the next edition of the book. It gives me a nostalgic adventurous feeling. I would however suggest that the colors be saturated a little more and try cropping the photo closer to the top of the hydrant. Just a couple of suggestions. Good work.
