 Photographer’s Notes
I have recently moved to Florence, Italy to teach a couple of classes at a US University’s study-abroad program. I lived here in Florence for most of a year more than 35 years ago and this is a wonderful opportunity to get reacquainted with this wonderful city. In the photo, you can see the Ponte Vechio (Old Bridge) which is one of Florence’s tourist landmarks.
I never tire of photographing the bridge. With different light, different sunlight angles, different weather, and different points of view … every photo is different. This was shot from the Piazzale Michelangelo on a dark, cloudy, misty day. The sun has just broken through and lit up the bridge and its section of the river. I wanted to capture the bridge isolated from the background by the sunlight. And I wanted to catch the reflections in the water.
Surprisingly, very little post processing was required. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I.

Great shot, you did well to catch the isolated light on the bridge. Love that town.
